Mark and his wife, Erin, partnered with Doug Walker in 2021 to transition Walker Funeral Service from the care of the Walker family to a new generation of leadership. Before leading Walker Funeral and Cremation Service, Mark has spent the last 30 years in different facets of caring for the deceased and bereaved. He started out as teenager washing cars, mowing lawns, and assisting with funerals and visitations. After being licensed in 2001, Mark served in the Midwest as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, as a location manager, general manager, and the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Funeral Board. While working for the Oklahoma Funeral Board, Mark was able to present and successfully pass legislation to help funeral directors and bereaved families across the state.
Mark and Erin have three children attending Grove School. When not in the funeral home or chasing the children, he is often found outdoors, running, bicycling, hiking, working on his handstand, or doing yard work.

Erin recently completed the mortuary science program at UCO and became a licensed funeral director in 2023. She spent previous years caring for her family full-time and has been adjacent to funeral service through her husband, Mark, for 20 years. Her top priority is her family, but now that the children require less from her, she desires to extend care to members of her community more directly. Erin’s nurturing and compassionate nature makes her a valuable addition to the team.
In addition to spending time with loved ones, Erin enjoys reading, hiking, traveling to new places, and has recently taken up gardening.
