William "Bill" Steele

Bill was born January 1, 1950, in Princeton MO to Mae (Ross) and Jessie Lee Steele, Sr. The family later moved to Oklahoma City where he attended school and finished at Classen High School. Bill and Edith Steele were married July 1, 1976; to this marriage were step-son Brian Smith, son Blake Steele and daughter April Lynn Steele Maston. Throughout his career, he worked, managed or owned several automotive body shops throughout OKC. He was a master body worker and could make a rusty old car look show-room new. His love of classic cars was boundless. He ended his career working as a parts supervisor at Fleet Management having 26 years before retirement. He was predeceased by his mother, father, sister Sue Shipman, brother Jessie L. Steele, Jr. and grandson Matthew Luke Maston. A devoted family man he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Edith, sons Brian Smith, and Blake Steele and spouse Cindy, daughter April Maston and spouse Mark. Granddaughters, Ashton Calahan and spouse, Aaron, Kaylee Smith, Raelynn Nowakowski, Jacee Steele, Hopelynn Maston and grandson, Gabriel Maston. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. His special nephew Eddie Shipman and a host of nephews and nieces. Sisters-in-law Pauline Smith and spouse Truman, Barbara Watler and spouse Hughes, and Lenora Thomas and spouse, Archie. Services will be Thursday, 2:00, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel in Shawnee, interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
