Wayne O'Dell Jackson

Shawnee resident Wayne Jackson, 75, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. He was born December 16, 1945 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Houston and Evelyn Jackson. He graduated from Shawnee High School. He married Edwin Jeffries in 1965 and they had 2 sons, Adrian and Steven Jackson. Wayne served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He worked for the State of Oklahoma Soil Conservation and at a youth correctional center. He was also a Shawnee Senior Center worker, volunteering, and working with youth. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven and brother, James. Survivors include sons, Adrian and Kadeem, 11 grandchildren, and countless other family members and friends.
