Violet Hester Watson

Violet Hester (Holcombe) Watson, age 91 of Shawnee, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 in a local nursing center. Born March 30, 1929 to Rupert and Fannie Holcombe in San Jon, New Mexico. She graduated from McLoud High School and was a homemaker and childcare giver and taught Sunday School Class for the 2-3 years old for many years. She married Ivory Gene Watson on August 1, 1948. She was a member of The Shawnee First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Ivory Watson; brother: Colbert Holcombe; sisters: Mary Ruth Wiegert and Ilene Crane.

She is survived by; sister: AnaBea Calvert; daughters: Della and Floyd Styers and Dawna and Charles Hamm; grandchidren: Heather and Bruce Roton, Gene and Jess Thompson, Chad and Kelly Hamm, Amber and Shaun Whiteside; great-grandchildren: Garrett Skinner, Dillon Skinner, Kylaus Thompson, Bryceson Thompson, Bailey and Tristen Juber, Caleb Hamm, Alex Whiteside and many nieces nephews and friends.

The family is having a private service.
