Trevor Jon Young was born on May 6, 1969, en route to the hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Roger and Diann Young. It was one of the few times he ever arrived early.
Trevor fought a long and hard cancer battle with grace and dignity. He gave it all he had. He passed away in the early morning hours on March 25, 2026.
Trevor graduated from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was a Titan for life.
He married Andy (Adrianne) Hinton on February 17, 1996. This past February, they celebrated 30 years together. He was Andy’s “Treasure.” They were blessed with two beautiful children, Keegan and Samuel, who were the lights of his world. He loved them deeply. Trevor was the best father and husband—sweet, patient, kind, funny, honorable, cheerful, loving, giving, helpful, and selfless. He was all the good words you could think of, and so much more.
Trevor loved camping and fishing, and he claimed to love hunting—though he rarely brought anything home. Truthfully, he just loved being out in nature and enjoying God’s creation. He was always up for an adventure and took his family on many memorable trips. Together, they explored mountains, forests, lakes, rocks (that usually ended up in our pockets), dinosaur bones, and oceans.
Trevor was a talented cook who loved experimenting with his smoker. From ribs to bacon-wrapped Snickers—even smoked lemonade—he enjoyed perfecting new creations and sharing them with anyone willing to try.
He loved watching OU football. Countless times, he could be heard shouting the Sooners’ calling card, “BOOMER!” in the most unexpected places—someone always answered with a “Sooner!” no matter where he was. He also loved Cubs baseball and visited Wrigley Field several times. On one memorable visit, they even won! Go Cubs go!
Trevor worked as an HVAC mechanic for Mid-Del Schools for 23 years, where he maintained strong ties with the Carl Albert community. In 2015, he accepted a position at Tinker Air Force Base and completed his career as a production controller in October 2025. Trevor valued the lasting friendships he built throughout his career. He never met a stranger and made everyone around him feel like family.
Most importantly, Trevor accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We thank God that he is healed for all eternity.
Trevor was preceded in death by his precious son, Samuel Clayton Young, and his father, Roger Young.
He is survived by his mother, Diann Young, his best friend and wife, Andy; his daughter, Keegan Young-Chesser, and her husband, Jacob Chesser; his sister, Teresa Burke; his brother, Todd Brannon; his uncles, Don Brannon and wife Guyanne, and Jon Brannon and wife Ursula; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many in-laws who have treasured and loved him over the past 30 years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at Johnson Church of God.
