Steven "Steve" Randall Jackson, born on October 6, 1948, in Providence, Rhode Island, departed this life on January 15, 2026. He dedicated 38 years to the city of Oklahoma City, achieving his Class A License in Water Treatment and serving with pride as Chief Plant Operator. Steven's commitment to his profession was exemplified by his unwavering dedication and service, which earned him a reputation as a respected figure in his field.
In addition to his career accomplishments, Steve was also deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America, where he left a lasting impact through his service to the Last Frontier Council and Manu Lodge, ultimately obtaining the distinguished Vigil Rank in the Order of the Arrow. His love for scouting extended beyond mere involvement; he cherished the memories made while attending campouts and collecting scout patches. These experiences were complemented by his passion for sports, particularly OU football and basketball.
Steve's military service is also noteworthy, having spent three years stationed aboard the USS Little Rock (CLG-4) during the Vietnam War. His service to his country was marked by bravery and dedication, qualities that he carried into all aspects of his life.
He attended Montverde Academy in Florida and continued his education through various classes at Rose State to further enhance his work capabilities. Those who knew Steve described him as outgoing, always quick with a smile, and ever willing to help others. He was known for his humorous "dad jokes," which brought joy to those around him.
Steve enjoyed countless memorable moments with his family, including trips to England to visit his son. He was a devoted father who taught his son invaluable lessons about providing for and protecting loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and guidance. His son felt honored to have him as a role model.
A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on January 23, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM, at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
Steve Randall Jackson will be remembered not only for his professional and personal accomplishments but also for the enduring legacy of kindness and service he left behind.
