Shirley Jean Swarb

Shirley Jean Swarb was born November 14, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Samuel Martin Criss and Patricia Mae (Moore) Criss. Shirley married Luther Eston Swarb on October 31, 1948 in Tishomingo, OK.

Shirley leaves behind two daughters and son-in-law: Valarie & Michael Hunt of Oklahoma City, OK and Deby Thomas of Moore, OK; two sisters Linda Glenn of Moore, OK and Katy McClure of Keithville, LA; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one son-in-law, two brothers and one sister.

She retired in March 1988 from Shawnee Medical Center Hospital as Personnel Director. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell family stories. Feeding the birds, cooking and gardening kept her busy until her illness robbed her of that ability. Growing good things to eat and beautiful flowers gave her great joy. Shirley loved the Lord, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service, with burial following in Tecumseh Cemetery.
