Shane Tackett

Shane Tackett, a devoted husband, loving father, and courageous soldier, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Ukraine. His life was defined by resilience, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to justice and service.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Shane spent his childhood in Prague, Oklahoma, graduating from Prague High School in 2008. Even from a young age, his path was unmistakable. His preferred bed was a military cot, and every Christmas he wished for anything related to the military or survival. He carried a natural instinct to stand up for what was right. These early traits foreshadowed the disciplined, principled, and service‑driven man he would become.

After high school, Shane proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, embodying the dedication and honor that marked every chapter of his life. In August 2025, guided by a profound sense of justice and duty, he enlisted with the Ukrainian military as part of the AZOV special forces unit. His ultimate sacrifice in defense of Ukraine and its people stands as a testament to his bravery, loyalty, and unyielding commitment to freedom and justice.

Professionally, Shane served as a Safety Specialist for Nana Management Services, conducting safety inspections across the United States with diligence and care. His sharp intellect, thoughtful nature, and genuine concern for the well‑being of others earned him deep respect among colleagues and friends.

Shane lived with curiosity, passion, and a mind always hungry to learn. He loved chess and mentally challenging puzzles, often sharing his memorable “bell curve” analogies. His interests included hunting, camping, precision shooting, hiking, gaming, Pokémon cards, piano, survival skills, and maintaining a saltwater aquarium. Whatever he pursued, he did so with enthusiasm and a spirit of exploration.

Shane is survived by his beloved wife, Amariah Tackett; his two cherished daughters, Lilly Tackett of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Iris Tulsi Tackett of Wasilla, Alaska; His father Dwight Tackett of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his mother, Shawn Sprouse, and her husband, Shane Sprouse, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and his brothers Joel Tackett, Koale Tackett, and Chad Tackett and wife Katelyn, all of Midwest City. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Leona and Dwight Tackett, and his best friend, Nick Boddy of Noble, Oklahoma, who remains a heartfelt part of his enduring legacy.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lorna Geist and Brian Geist.

A funeral ceremony honoring Shane’s life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Faith Community Church of God, 43005 E MacArthur St, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
