Roger Jennings Humphrey, 74, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2025.
Born on August 16, 1950, in Shawnee, Roger spent the majority of his life in the community he loved. He retired from Eaton Corporation after a long and dedicated career as a machinist. In addition to his skilled trade work, Roger brought joy and energy to the airwaves as an on-air personality for the Bargain World televised auction and also served as a security officer at Firelake Grand Casino.
Roger was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for sports cars and could often be found riding one of his beloved Harley Davidsons. He had a gift for writing and a heart full of love for his family. Always quick with a joke, Roger had a knack for bringing laughter and light into any room. He will be remembered for his generosity, his fierce devotion to his loved ones, and his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings Artie Humphrey and Moheba Inez Humphrey as well as his brother, Larry Hodge. He is survived by his daughter, Ronnye Dunham and husband Keith Dunham and their three children: Ashley Floyd, Todd Dunham, and Tyler Dunham; his son, Michael Bradley Humphrey and wife Shannon Humphrey and their daughter, Sierra Dawn Spies; and his son, Chad Jennings Humphrey and wife Janna Humphrey and their children: Maxwell Jennings Humphrey and Reese Jennings Humphrey. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Hodge and wife Carolyn.
Roger was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, and his love for them was evident to all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Church in Shawnee, OK, on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Roger are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital which was Roger’s favorite charity.
