Rod Eric Schwerdtfeger

Shawnee resident Rod Eric Schwerdtfeger, 53, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home. Memorial services are scheduled for 1pm Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Capron United Methodist Church in Capron, Oklahoma. Rod was born October 13, 1969 in Alva, Oklahoma to Terry and Karen Schwerdtfeger. He graduated from Alva High School where he played football. While in school, he worked on his grandpa’s farm and went on harvest each summer. Rod worked in Kansas for several years as a truck pusher, delivered for Bostick Service for 10 years, and also as Truck Driver. He enjoyed fishing, gun shows, riding motorcycles but mostly spending time with his son and grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Schwerdtfeger. He is survived by his wife: Denise Schwerdtfeger of Shawnee, son: Bryce Sullivan of Shawnee, grandson: Eric Sullivan, brother: Chad Schwerdtfeger of Edmond, step-sister: Teresa Payne of MO, aunt and uncle: Greg and Melissa Schwerdtfeger of Capron, cousin: Leonard Schwerdtfeger of Capron, and his mother: Karen Bringham of Edmond.
