Robert Wesley Rushing

Robert Wesley Rushing, resident of Shawnee, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was 63 years old. Robert was born on January 2, 1963, in Oklahoma City to Thomas Wesley Rushing and Thelma Joan Reynolds Rushing. Robert attended Faith 7 School and later went to Faith 7 Sheltered Workshop from 1969 to August 2002. He then went to South Central Workshop and really enjoyed it there.

Robert loved to bowl, swim, and enjoyed listening to all types of music. He was a huge NASCAR fan and loved the outdoors. He loved his family and friends and loved going to the stock car races with his dad and good friend, Jimmy Higdon. He also loved going Deer hunting with his dad and uncles. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Robert enjoyed life and was a peace maker. He was a special child of God who will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby L and Thomas Wiley Rushing and Willie Alton and Ida Scheide Reynolds.

Survivors include his mother and father, Thelma Joan Reynolds Rushing and Thomas Wesley Rushing of Shawnee; sister, Tammy Joan Rushing Christensen of Liberty, MO; brother, Mark Alan Rushing of Bartlesville, OK; and brother, Justin Thomas Rushing.

A graveside ceremony for Robert will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Dale Cemetery, 33500 45th Street, Shawnee, OK.
