Rebecca Sue Pecore, affectionately known as Becky, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in her hometown of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Born on April 23, 1952 to Sylvester and Gloria D. (Ketchum) Scullawl, Becky's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and spirited charm, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and community.
Becky's early years were spent attending Bartlesville Schools and Copan High School, after which she answered the call of duty by joining the U.S. Air Force. This chapter of service demonstrated her deep commitment and strength, qualities she carried proudly throughout her life. In the mid-1980s, she delighted many with her baked goods at the Owl Shoppe in Shawnee, but perhaps her most cherished role was that of a skilled homemaker, a role she embraced with the care and devotion of a true matriarch.
A woman of spunky spirit and traditional values, Becky was often likened to "Betty Crocker" not just for her culinary prowess but also for her loving and caring nature. She married her husband, David E. Pecore, on June 30, 1975, and together they shared 28 years of marriage filled with mutual support and affection until his passing in 2003. Her enduring faith found expression in her long-time membership at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, where she devoted herself until her husband's death. Her nurturing heart extended beyond her immediate family as she provided late-life care for her husband's grandmother, a testament to her dedication to service and love.
Becky's joys were found in the daily support of her husband on their farm, supporting her family with her cooking and sewing, spending time with her beloved grandchildren, playing card games such as Nertz, Solitaire, and Uno, and singing-activities that brought warmth and laughter into her home. Her family remembers her not only for her talents and hospitality but for the loving, caring, yet fiesty, presence she always was.
Survivors include her children: Linda Doane and husband David of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Venus Hoffner of Royersford, Pennsylvania; David Pecore and wife Stevie of Chelsea, Oklahoma; and Jacob Pecore of Claremore, Oklahoma; siblings: Sylvester "Butch" Scullawl and wife Tammy of Ochelata, Oklahoma; Rita Buoy and husband David of Meeker, Oklahoma; Tonya Soloman and husband Dwight of Mineral Wells, Texas; Merry Rodriguez and husband Ray of Macomb, Oklahoma; and Terry Thomason and husband Darren of Ochelata, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Dakota Yott and wife Katie of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Wyatt Yott of Bartlesville; Jason Hoffner and wife Elizabeth of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Ian Hoffner of Royersford, Pennsylvania; Emily Hoffner of Sellersville, Pennsylvania; John Hoffner of Royersford, Pennsylvania; Patience Cooper and Payton Cooper of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Odin Sanders of Shawnee; Braden Brinlee, Calliegh Pecore, Jace Pecore, Talon Pecore, Kaydo Pecore, Lily Pecore, and grandson Boogie, all of Chelsea, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Nova Yott, Arrow Yott, Arlow Yott, and eagerly awaited the arrival of great-grandson Logan Blaize Cooper.
Becky was predeceased by her beloved parents, Sylvester and Gloria (Ketchum) Scullawl; her husband David E. Pecore; daughters Sherrie Pecore and Lissia Pecore; her infant son; brother Scott Scullawl; and grandsons Dalton Yott and Donald Cooper.
