R.D. Stacy

RD Stacy was born June 7th, 1923 in Berryville, Arkansas to Roy Stacy and Celestia Maxwell, and passed away on Thursday, September 5, in Shawnee. The family moved to the McLoud area in 1937 and RD had resided there ever since. RD married Cora Garrison on October 11, 1941 in Berryville, Arkansas; Cora preceded him in death and on April 26, 2006 he married Marlene Miklas in McLoud. RD was a mechanic in McLoud for over 60 years. He was a retired fireman and member of the McLoud Fire Department for many years, loved OU Football, going to the McLoud Senior Center and was a member of Grace Point Church and Outreach in McLoud. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his brothers Carroll and William; and his first wife, Cora. RD is survived by his wife, Marlene Miklas of the home; daughter Ila Ferguson of Del City; son, Larry Stacy and wife Ann of McLoud; his sister, Zella Morris of Midwest City; step children, Ken Zook of Florida, and Paula Choate and husband Mike, of Shawnee; five grandsons and four granddaughters, twenty six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; five nieces, two nephews, four cousins, and many other family and friends. Services will be Wednesday, September 11 at 11:00 AM, at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, with Pastor Wayne Heins officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
