Ramah Lee Rutherford

Ramah Lee (Giles) Rutherford, 82, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, August 19 in a local nursing home.She was born October 27, 1934 in Shawnee, OK to Clyde & Irene Giles.  She graduated from Shawnee High School, where she was a Drum Major and twirler, as well as on the high school swim team.  She was an avid bowler with a 175 average and loved dancing.  On November 3, 1955 she married Warren Rutherford, married for 62 years this November.Ramah worked at the Shawnee News-Star, starting at the switchboard, moved to circulation and eventually moved to advertising before retiring.She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Rosemary Dawson and Norma Dean LaVoieShe is survived by her husband, Warren Rutherford of Shawnee, 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Rod & Laura Rutherford of Edmond, and Roger & Lee Rutherford of Shawnee; 5 Grandchildren and spouses: Brett & Camille Rutherford of Edmond, Jacob Rutherford and fiancé Jennifer Ellington of Edmond, Marli & Chas Gilmore of Edmond, Connor Rutherford of Shawnee and Madison Rutherford of Shawnee; 2 great granddaughters, Stella and Sadie Rutherford of Edmond.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
