Patty Jo Smith

Shawnee resident, Patty Jo Smith died January 23, 2021, in a local hospital from complications of Covid-19. She was born on July 25, 1941 in Ada, OK to Alva Lee and Pauline Oliver. She was a graduate of Midwest City High School and attended Oklahoma City University. She married John F. Smith on July 25, 1961 in Norman, OK. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for Buford White Lumber. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, enjoyed Thunder games, sewing, and Shawnee Little Theater productions. Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Angela and David Haberland and a son Clark Smith, all of Shawnee. Three grandchildren, Shauna Karl, John Grass, and Stephanie Gifford and eleven great-grandchildren and her best friend Betty Storie. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Methodist Women (UMW) at Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee, OK.
