Oleta Ray McCalip

Oleta Ray McCalip, life-long resident of Shawnee, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at her home. She was 79 years old. "Leta" was born on March 18, 1942 to her parents, Archie and Ola Miles in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Leta retired from Tinker AFB where she met life-long friends. Her love of Christmas was evident throughout the year watching Christmas movies and always looking for Christmas decoration bargains. She loved the local library and was a voracious reader. And, she never forgot a birthday.

Leta was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Brandon Cully of Shawnee and Jeff Beal and wife Charlotte of Palmer, Alaska and granddaughter, Brittney Beal of Springfield, Missouri.

A memorial ceremony will be held at the Walker Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
