Norma Lee Johnson died in Edmond, OK on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was 88 years old. Norma was born on June 14, 1929 in Seminole, OK. She is the daughter of James Holt and Anna Elizabeth Hazelwood. They moved to Oklahoma City where she grew up and attended Classen High School. Norma went to the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1951 with an A.B.S. Degree in Physical Education. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at O.U. She then taught high school physical education and social studies in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Norma married Dr. John Walker Johnson, Jr. on June 14, 1952 in Oklahoma City. Norma and Dr. John W. Johnson, Jr. lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma for several decades. She raised her three children there and was an active member of the community. Norma and the Johnson family were members of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Shawnee. Norma is survived by her three children: John Walker Johnson, III (and his wife Jackie) and their two children, Lindsay Miller (and her husband Justin) and John Walker Johnson, IV (and his wife Madison); James Brent Johnson and his three children, James Brent Johnson, Jr. (and his wife Fanny), Katie Elizabeth Turner (and her husband Graham), and Ryan Holt Johnson (and his wife Jordan); Karen Lee Haddon (and her fiancé Mike Terpening) and her son, Creighton Allen Haddon, Jr. (and his wife Kayla). Also surviving Norma are 7 great-grandchildren: Kade Walker Haddon, Colt Leonard Haddon, Saylor Graham Turner, Addison Lee Miller, Sibyl Kate Turner, Stella Jaymes Johnson, and Logan Thomas Miller. Norma is also survived by her brother Charles Eugene Hazelwood (Gene) and his wife Jenny, as well as several nieces and nephews.Following a private burial at Fairview Cemetery, a memorial service will be held at Walker Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
