Nina Jeanne Austin

Nina Austin, age 92 of Shawnee died Friday, September 23, 2022 in a local nursing center. Services have been set for Monday October 3, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1st and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2nd. Nina was born September 21, 1930 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Anthony "Tony" Bauman and Hildred (Wilkinson) Bauman. Nina was an RN, a nursing home administrator, and co-owner of Parkview Nursing Home for over 30 years. She loved water skiing, flower gardening, square dancing, and being with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister: Mary Jo Stephens, and a sister: Margaret Bouska. She is survived by her husband: Curtis Rigg of Carrolton, TX, 4 Children: Judy Cox of Shawnee, Serita Bell of Shawnee, David Austin and wife Jan Tipton of Shawnee, and Marcia Austin of Shawnee, 7 Grandchildren: Tedra Johnson and husband Mike of Shawnee, Jonna Freeman and husband J. of Shawnee, Ricki and husband Preston of Shawnee, Jackie Hudson and husband Brett of OKC, Scott Bell of Shawnee, Cash Kunze of NY City, and Chase Kunze of Shawnee, great-grandchildren: Briar, Beau, Austin, Jaiden, Cori, and Laurin, great-great-grandchildren: Presley and Able, 2 brothers: George Bauman of LA, CA, and Frank Bauman of Shawnee, 1 sister: Sylvia Coogle and husband Larry of Milton, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
