Mildred M. Hill

March 18, 1923 — September 7, 2017

Mildred Madelaine Hill was born in Sequoyah County, OK on March 18, 1923 to Everett and Emma (Rosson) Holt.  On August 7, 1948, she married the love of her life, Johnie Hill.  He went to be with the Lord March 23, 1982 and on September 7, 2017 she was reunited with him after reaching her goal of 94 years old, just like her mother. She leaves behind two sons, Johnie Michael and Robert Mitchell, that loved their mom with all their heart and always took care of her; two daughters-in-law, that she called “my daughters or my girls”, Kim and Cindy, that loved her like a mom.  Mildred was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They all loved spending time with Grandma or Grandma Mildred, and she spoiled them as all grandmas have a tendency to do.  Each one was her favorite and will always treasure their time with her. Mildred was an avid reader and would bring home all the books she could check out from the library.  Her niece and grandchildren would contribute to her voracious appetite for reading. In years past, everyone would come for her delicious Sunday dinners and spend the afternoon playing games.  She was exceptionally good at “Greedy”, and enjoyed puzzles and wordsearches.  During basketball season, you might find her cheering on the OKC Thunder and wearing her favorite jersey, Steven Adams. Mildred was quite the seamstress and is being laid to rest in the outfit she requested and made. Those that have gone on before her: Parents Everett and Emma Holt; Husband: Johnie; Sisters: Alpha, Aileen, Alice, Connie, Loretta and Fairy; Brothers: Ernie, Vernon and David; Great-granddaughter: Gracelyn Michelle. Those left to treasure her memory are her sons and “daughters”: Johnie Michael & Kimberly Hill; Robert Mitchell & Cindy Hill; her grandchildren: Christopher & Jenny Hill, Kirk & Cindy Hill, Robbie & Jackie Prescott, Holly Hill, and Johnie Hill; Her great-grandchildren: Payton & Hunter Hill, Kinsley & Carson Hill; Brother with whom she shared a birthday, Calvin Holt; Brother-in-Law: Charles Ford; Sisters-in-Law: Shannon Holt and Margaret Hill-Seabring; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to Thank those at the McLoud Nursing Center that gave her kisses and and cared for her while she was there. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 11 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Dewayne Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
