Mike Jeffers

April 22, 1940 — January 22, 2022

Edward Michael "Mike" Jeffers passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the age of 81. He lived a full life of adventure, love of family and friends. He was born on April 22, 1940 in Haileyville, Oklahoma. He was a member of the 1959 graduating class of Shawnee High School.

Mike joined the Oklahoma Air National Guard as a high school graduate and later maintained helicopters as a member of the United States Army stationed around the country to include Norfolk, Virginia.

He held many jobs in his lifetime including owning his own landscaping company in Lewisville, Texas as well as facilities maintenance in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He rarely passed by a building or location while driving by without saying: "I used to work there."

In his retired years he loved to travel, covering miles and miles in his RV all over the United States as well as traveling to the United Kingdom and Ireland. He developed many friendships in motorcycle clubs while riding his Harley Davidson from Texas to Florida and beyond.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 34 years, Patricia Eileen, his son, Michael Allen and by his older sister, Virginia Ann Rigazzi.

He is survived by his daughters, Toni Michele Howell of Irving Texas and Janie Roxane (Roxie) Robinson, son-in-law William Alexander Robinson, V of Katy, Texas, his niece, Ginger Munn and nephew, Andy Rigazzi and their children, grandchildren, Payton Myles Howell, Samantha Eileen Robinson and Teagan Michele Robinson, great-grandsons, Ryker Marshall Howell and Korbyn Rayne Abrams, lifelong friend and longtime companion, Perthena Ann Latchaw of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A memorial ceremony for Mike will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Walker Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to donate to charities close to Mike's heart: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
