Melva Kay Miser Butcher, age 76, peacefully passed away on August 2nd, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on July 2nd, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of Mildred Katherine Gaugh. She grew up in the Dallas area and later had two amazing daughters, whom she provided for as a single mother.
In her final years, she was blessed to be cared for at home by her devoted daughter, Shelley, who served as her loving caregiver for the last six years.
Melva was best known for her love of animals and working with rescues, her love of Hallmark Christmas movies, her passion for wrestling, and her deep love for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim; her mother, Mildred; her brother, Ray; and her nephews, Allen and Jeff. She is survived and dearly missed by her daughter, Shelley, and her husband, Michael; her granddaughters, Crystal, and her husband, Dylan, and EmmaLynn; her grandson, Killian; her great-grandson, Matthew; her great-granddaughter, Trinity; her sister, Karen; and her nephews, Ray, Steve, and Kyle.
