Margie Ann (Perry) Arthur passed from this life on Monday, June 26, 2023. Margie was born November 9, 1939 in Columbus, GA to Joseph Perry and Helen Louise (Jenkins) Williams. She graduated from high school and then received her Nursing Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Margie then retired in 1994, at Flint Osteopathic Hospital.

She married Henry D. Arthur on August 12, 1974 and in 1999, they moved to Oklahoma after Henry retired.

Margie enjoyed spending her time sewing, traveling, bowling, and creating ceramics. Her proudest moments were when she won the state title with the Lady Bowlers and how well known she was for her African-American ceramic Santa Clauses and angels. Margie also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was a strong and active member of Central Church of Christ, but loved helping local congregations. Margie loved to help others which led her to feed and clothe the less fortunate.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Perry and Helen Williams; and aunt Ruby Taylor.

She is survived by her husband Henry Arthur of the home; son Daron Stephens and his wife Pat of Detroit, MI; daughter April Stephens of Detroit, MI; daughter Karen Brown and husband Greg of Detroit, MI; daughter Elonda Anderson of OKC, OK; daughter Ronda Arthur of OKC, OK; daughter Christina Arthur of OKC, OK; daughter Detri Murray and husband Oliver of OKC, OK; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and godson Paul Williams.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Detroit Memorial Park-West in Detroit, MI.
