With faith in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, we announce the passing of Mack Mohler, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on February 3, 1942, in Bristow, Oklahoma, Mack was the beloved son of Willie Mae and John Osborn Mohler. He lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his beloved late wife, Joanna "Jo" Mohler.
Those who knew Mack knew there was no such thing as a stranger. He had a quick wit and could strike up a conversation with anyone. An unapologetic charmer, he could talk to anyone about anything, and before long they'd feel like an old friend. He had a knack for winning hearts wherever he went.
He believed in people, often before they believed in themselves, and had an uncanny ability to say exactly what someone needed to hear. Whether he was persuading someone to see things his way or reminding them of their own potential, people walked away from conversations with him feeling seen, valued, and capable of more than they imagined. More than anything, he was an encourager. His words had a way of lifting others up, giving confidence, and offering hope.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his stepchildren, Renee Cravens and David Slade; his grandchildren, Ryan Slade, Cassandra Marie, Brittany O'Brien, Derek Slade, and DeEtta Cravens; his siblings, Sue Kuykendall, Tom Mohler, and Glenda Hause; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating his life and faith will take place on Friday, July 17, at 3:00 p.m. at Shawnee Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a fellowship meal to follow.
Flowers or memorial contributions may be sent to 1 Briarwood Street, Shawnee, OK 74804.
