Leroy Eberle

Shawnee resident Leroy Eberle, 95, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Shawnee.Leroy was born on October 9, 1922 to Andrew and Josie (Durham) Eberle in Henryetta. He married Lavada Rutherford on August 20, 1946 in Shawnee, they enjoyed 71 years together. Leroy retired from the Shawnee Water Treatment Plant, he was a farmer most all of his life and he worked for Wilson’s Greenhouse in Shawnee. Leroy and Lavada were longtime members of Liberty Baptist Church.Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Alan Eberle.He is survived by his wife, Lavada; his daughter-in-law, Anita Eberle of Shawnee; a cousin, Marvin Cole of Ardmore; nephew Robert Rutherford and wife Paula of Choctaw and niece Lessie Palmer and her husband Steve, of Shawnee and many other friends and family.A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.Services for Leroy will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 21 at the Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee with Jimmy Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
