Larry Wayne Stacy passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in McLoud, Oklahoma. He was born on June 17, 1948, in McLoud, Oklahoma to his parents, RD and Cora Stacy. Larry will be fondly remembered for his creativity, kindness, and adventurous spirit that touched many lives.
During his time in the United States Army, Larry displayed courage and commitment to serving his country with honor. His military service was a testament to his bravery and selflessness. Following his honorary discharge from the military, Larry worked as a manager of the hobby shop at Tinker Air Force Base and was awarded employee of the year in 1997.
Larry had a wide range of interests and hobbies that enriched his life. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He had a love for building street/hot rods. His expertise in woodworking was remarkable; he even taught a college course on the subject. Additionally, Larry's musical talent shone through as he played the guitar in bands across Oklahoma like the Fender Benders and the Jesters.
Family was at the center of Larry's world. He cherished his role as a father and was known for always being there for his children. Larry adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought immense joy to his life.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Anne Stacy; sons, JC Stacy and wife Susan and Jeremy Pearce and wife Amy; daughters, Sarah McCormick and husband Bobby and Kristy Coble and husband Ryan; 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, RD and Cora Stacy; sister, Ila Ferguson; grandpa, Roy Stacy; uncles, Carroll Stacy and William Stacy; and aunt, Zella Morris.
Family will be present to greet friends during a time of visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 27th. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Chapel. Following the ceremony, Larry will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery. Casketbearers will be: Austin Stacy, Nathan Pearce, Brayden McCormick, Riley Bell, Cooper McCormick, and Rylynn Pearce.
Larry will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, creativity, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace knowing he made a lasting impact on those around him.
