LaRita Geraldine Batt, affectionately known as Gerry, passed away on October 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on April 2, 1932, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Gerry lived a life defined by her bold spirit and kindhearted nature.
Gerry dedicated many years to a successful career in retail, where her warm personality and genuine support made her beloved by customers and colleagues alike. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, taking immense pride in her children and grandchildren, who were among her proudest accomplishments.
A graduate of St. Benedict Catholic School, Gerry's commitment to education laid a foundation for her lifelong learning. She was also known for her adventurous spirit, often embracing the joys of camping, fishing, and traveling. Family vacations were a highlight in her life, filled with the "crazy stuff we checked out," which she recounted with humor and fondness.
Gerry's personality was irreplaceable; she was not only lighthearted and humorous but also a source of support for those around her. She leaves behind her loving daughter LaRita Haffey, son Terry Blackstone, daughter Brenda Stephenson, granddaughters Kari McIntyre and Teresa Ann Dedmond, grandsons Chad Stephenson and Tommy Lee Stephenson, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
Gerry is joined in eternal rest by her beloved husbands, James Batt and Lewis Dull, her parents, Homer and Libby Blackstone, her sister Rose Hinchee, her brothers Jack Blackstone, Elmer Blackstone, and Lester Blackstone, and her cherished grandson Mike Haffey.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
Gerry's beloved family and friends remember her as someone who was not only a storyteller but also a beacon of love and kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
