Keith Ward, 69, passed away Monday, May 11th, 2026 at his home, leaving behind a lifetime of love, devotion, faith, and memories that will forever be treasured by his family and friends. Known to everyone simply as Keith, he was a man whose greatest joy in life came from the people he loved and from his faith in Jesus Christ.
For 47 beautiful years, Keith shared a deep and devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Vickie Ward. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, strength, and unwavering commitment to one another and to their family. Their bond was a true example of lasting love.
Keith proudly dedicated 30 years of service to the City of Shawnee Water Department. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and the respect he earned from those who worked alongside him. He took pride in serving his community and providing for the family he loved so dearly. In his personal time, Keith was often tending to his beloved animals, especially birds. He cared for numerous chickens, parakeets, ducks, doves, quail and even some turkeys at times. Additionally, he found joy getting his hands dirty in the garden.
Above all else, Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He leaves behind his children: Kelly Ward and wife Diana Ward of Shawnee; Christopher Ward and wife Lynsi Ward of Yukon; and Stefanie Morgan and husband Christopher Morgan of Shawnee. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren — Caiden, Landon, Nathan, CJ, Michael, and Brielle — who brought endless joy to his heart. Keith is also survived by his brother, Mark Ward, and sister-in-law Toni Ward of Idabel.
Keith will be remembered for his gentle heart, quiet strength, sense of humor, and the way he made people feel loved and welcomed. His faith in Jesus guided the way he lived his life — with compassion, humility, and love for others. His family finds peace in knowing he is now resting in the presence of his Creator.
Friends and loved ones may pay their respects to Keith at the funeral home Thursday, May 14 from 8am-7pm with the family present to greet friends from 5-7pm. A funeral ceremony to celebrate Keith's life will be held at 11AM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 Kimberley Street, Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Tecumseh Cemetery.
