Kathryn "Kate" Hembree

Shawnee resident Kate Hembree, 98, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Shawnee.

Memorial services are 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.

Kate was born November 23, 1921 in Steve, Arkansas to Sammy Seaton and Sylvia (Hull) Seaton. She married Ervin Hembree on July 20, 1940 in Shawnee. Mrs. Hembree worked for several years at the Sylvania plant in Shawnee. She was a member of Northridge Church of Christ and she enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder, O.U., and spending time with her great-grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter: Kathy Henderson, 3 sisters: Helen Seaton, Ruth Wilson, and Joyce Smith, 4 brothers: Claude, Hershel, Ulis, and Gene Seaton.

Survivors include her Grandchildren: Vicki Gilpin and husband Sean of Shawnee, Steve Henderson and wife Pam of Odessa, TX, Craig Henderson and wife Jill of Rio Rancho, NM, 2 Great-Grandchildren: Aaron and Thomas Gilpin of Shawnee,1 sister: Inez McKinnon,1 brother: L.J. “Dick” Seaton, and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
