Joshua Rayburn Messamore passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 42. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his big heart and loving nature.
Josh faced life's challenges with determination and courage. He worked hard to build a better future and was proud of the progress he made and the relationships he built and restored along the way. His journey was one of perseverance, growth, and hope, and those who loved him were proud of the strength he showed throughout his life. Josh graduated Shawnee High School in 2002 before going on to become a dedicated employee at Bison Metals & Technologies in Shawnee, where he worked as a press operator. He took great pride in his work and valued the people he worked alongside. He had a way of lifting the spirits of those around him with his warmth and good nature.
Josh is survived by his parents, Terri and Danny Ball; brothers, Kurtis Ball and Jeremy Ball; sister-in-law, Victoria Ball; cherished nephew, Cameron Ball; grandparents, Charlotte Pierson, Phyllis and Rick Hamilton, and Darrell and Kathy Ball; aunts and uncles, Tammy Messamore, Kim and David Dunn, and Eddy and Denise Ball, along with many cousins and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
Waiting with open arms to welcome Josh home is his beloved Grandma GG; cousin Timmy; aunts, Toni Sheppard, Julie Burleson; and grandfathers, David Pierson and Albert Rayburn Messamore. While his family grieves the loss of his presence here on earth, they find comfort in imagining the joyful reunion that awaited him beyond this life.
While words cannot fully express the sorrow felt by his family and friends, they find peace in knowing that Josh's memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that remains. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy."
A Celebration of Josh's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Glenn Collins Memorial Pavilion at Shawnee Lake.
