John Stephen Day

John Day, our beloved husband, father, son and brother departed this earth on June 16, 2018. Born October 29th 1973, he was 44. John was the Pork Group Transportation manager at Tyson Foods in Holdenville OK, as well as working part time as a bouncer at Coyote Ugly in Oklahoma City which financed his real passion, bowling. He was very active in the bowling scene at Firelake Bowling Center as well as Shawnee Bowl. He donated a large part of his free time to coach the kids in YABA and was active in several leagues. He is the son of Mary Patterson of Shawnee and preceded in death by his father Dennis Day. He is survived by his wife Teresa Day, his six beautiful children Michael Day, Christa Day, Jimmie Day, Bryce Day, Robert Day, and Melissa Doty all of Shawnee. His two brothers Dennis Day and Bill Day, and his step father William Patterson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Shawnee YABA would be greatly appreciated. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Walker Funeral Service chapel, located at 201 E. 45th St. in Shawnee.
