JoAnn (Topel) Boatman

Shawnee resident JoAnn (Topel) Boatman, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her home. Viewing will begin at noon on Thursday. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, July 22, 2022 at Walker Funeral Chapel. JoAnn was born March 30, 1949 in Elkhorn, WI to Edward and Olive (Jensen) Topel. She graduated from high school in East Troy, WI. She married James Boatman on Sept. 23, 1967. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. JoAnn enjoyed reading, fishing, and collecting. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: James Addison Boatman II and Christopher Michael Boatman, and 2 sisters: Jean Hink and Charlene Darr. Survivors include her husband: James Boatman of the home, daughter: Tracy Boatman and husband Bryan Brasel, 2 grandsons: Jacob Boatman and fiancé Hope Casias, Joshua Boatman and fiancé Lindsey Romero, step-granddaughter, Shandra Stanley and Aaron, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 sister: Barbara Taylor of WI, and numerous other relatives and friends.
