Jimmie Dale Coker, resident of Shawnee, OK, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026. He was 90 years old. Jimmie was born on November 24, 1935, in Shawnee, OK to his parents, Rudy and Leva Coker. Jim graduated from Bethel High school. He attended OBU, earning his bachelor's degree in education, where he met Sonya and they married on August 20, 1955, in Okmulgee and celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing in 1998. He worked at Rock Island Railroad, was a case manager for DHS and eventually retired from teaching. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors and took on the challenge of building a lake cabin with his two sons. He would later build Sonya's dream home for her at their farm on Coker Road where they raised cattle.
