Jessie Willodean (Ennis) Bohannon

Jessie Willodean (Ennis) Bohannon went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2018.She was born November 28, 1927 to Earl and Mary “Mae” Smalley in Eakly, Oklahoma. She lived on the family farm until she moved to Oklahoma City at the end of WWII where she went to work at the Daily Oklahoman and attended Oklahoma Christian University. She met the love of her life John Ennis and they were married on August 30, 1946. She worked full time at the Oklahoman and managed an apartment house, all the while being a young mother, to help her husband through medical school. Upon his graduation, she moved with her family to Cyril, OK where he began practicing medicine. She and John had 3 children. “Willie” as she was known to her friends, was very active in the community with her children and served as a Sunday school teacher at Cyril Methodist Church. The family moved to Midwest City in 1967. Her husband passed away in 1972 and she continued to live in Midwest City until the early 80’s when she moved to OKC. She lived there until she moved to Shawnee in 2012 to be near her daughter and family. She was preceded in death by her husband John Ennis, her 2nd husband Bill Rice and last husband Phil Bohannon, a son: John “Steven” Ennis, 6 sisters: Rachel, Lena, Juanita, Helen, Dortha and Illa, 2 brothers: E.J., and Earl James “Bud”, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter: Claudia Ledford and husband Gary of Shawnee, Son: Todd Ennis and partner Allen Barrett of Houston, TX, Daughter-in-law: Kathy (Ennis) York and husband Randy, of Edmond, OK 3 Grandchildren: Joshua Ledford, Jared Ledford and wife Heather, Erika Nichols and husband Rodney, 4 Great-Grandchildren: Madelyn, Alexis, and Jase Ledford, and Emily Nichols, 1 Sister: Patsy Thompson of Yukon, Along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4pm to 5:30pm on Sunday.Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2018 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with James Eustace officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
