Jerry Lee Martin, passed away Tuesday June 2, 2026, at his home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Born on October 17, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Clifford P. and Ada L. (Deal) Martin, Jerry lived a life marked by service, hard work, and a commitment to those he loved.

Jerry’s early years were rooted in Oklahoma City, where he attended Capitol Hill High School. Following high school, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army, he continued his military career with the United States Navy, proudly serving in the Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees, during the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, Jerry embarked on a career as a truck driver, hauling freight as a valued member of the Teamsters Union. His exemplary dedication to safety was recognized by an impressive milestone of over four million miles of safe driving, a testament to his professionalism and commitment on the road. Jerry was known as a good, solid man who took great care of his family, providing both sustenance and care with unwavering devotion. He cherished spending time playing poker with his family, enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle alongside his close friend Gene Philbin, and treasured traveling with his beloved wife, Cheryl, on their memorable antiquing road trips. In Nov. 1991, he married his sweetheart Cheryl Gill. They celebrated nearly 21 years of marriage before her passing in 2012.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Clifford P. Martin and Ada L. (Deal) Martin, his wife Cheryl, as well as his brothers Art Martin, Richard Martin, Vernie Martin, Terry Martin, and Clifford Martin.

Jerry leaves behind a large and loving family, including his daughter Jelene Depue and her husband Mack of Tuttle, Oklahoma; his sons Paul Martin of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Jerry B. Martin and wife Stacy of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Jeff Martin of Earlsboro, Oklahoma. His siblings Mary Campbell of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Debbie Martin of Oklahoma City; Darrell Martin of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and Lawrence “Mel” Martin of California also survive him; his cherished grandchildren: Stacy Morkrid and husband Sean of Seminole, Oklahoma; Kaylee Hopson and husband Tyler of Stillwell, Oklahoma; Clarence Phillips of Macomb, Oklahoma; Jacob Martin and wife Gabby of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Colee Todd and husband Carson of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He also took great pride in his great-grandchildren: Aria Morkrid, Silas Morkrid, Alice Hopson, Kobe Phillips, Amauriana Phillips, Baker Martin, Astrid Martin, and Memphis Martin.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 1-5pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026 with the family present to greet friends from 2-4pm. A funeral ceremony to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service. He will be laid to rest privately at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at a later date.
