Janice Corene Hollis

Shawnee resident Janice Corene (LaValley) Hollis, 82, died June 16, 2020 at her home.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Wetumka Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Tiffany A. Nagel Monroe.

Janice was born May 24, 1938 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Clyde L. & Jessie M. (Welch) LaValley. She was a homemaker and worked many years in retail, home décor and women’s fashion. On October 31, 1964 she married Roy L. Hollis in Dumas, Texas. She was a member of Wallace Avenue Baptist Church of Shawnee. She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 2 sisters-in-law and 4 brothers-in-law, 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy L. Hollis of the home daughter: Lee Ann (Hollis) Rutherford and husband Roger of Shawnee 2 Grandsons: Brett Rutherford and wife Camille of Edmond and Connor Rutherford of Oklahoma City, granddaughter: Madison (Rutherford) LeClaire and husband Dakota of Edmond 2 great granddaughters: Stella & Sadie Rutherford of Edmond sister: Clydean Chastian of Dumas, TX Sister & brother-in-law: Annette & Connie Coble of Shawnee brother: Tom LaValley of Shawnee 2 sisters-in-law: Selma Davis of Washington State and Mary Hollis of Oologah, OK and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
