Jackie Givens

McLoud resident Jackie Givens, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 30, 2019 at New Life Baptist Church (Newalla) with Pastor Rick Ham officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

As per Jackie’s request there will be no viewing.  Jackie was born February 1, 1944 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Harvey and Velma Griffin.  She spent her early years in Clinton, OK and graduated from Southeast High School.  She married Roy Don Givens on May 11, 1962.  She retired from McLoud Schools after 25 years.  Jackie was a member of New Life Baptist Church where she was very active.  She sent out daily e-mails (Morning Light) to hundreds of people with encouraging scriptures and prayer requests.  She enjoyed reading, studying her bible, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter:  Kyla Dawn Givens, and brother:  Harvey Givens.

She is survived by her husband:  Roy Don Givens of the home, son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Leslie Givens of McLoud, two grandchildren:  Brandon and Kelson Givens of McLoud, and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
