Gayla Ward Masingill

Gayla Ward Masingill, age 66 of Shawnee, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in a local nursing home. A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Gayla was born May 19, 1956, in Arkansas to Floyd and Alberta Ward. She graduated from Shawnee High School and Gordon Cooper Nursing Program. She married Rex Masingill on February 14, 2014. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Gayla enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening. She loved wiener dogs and hummingbirds. Gayla also enjoyed her nursing career for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd, sister, Joy Lea and brother, Marvin. She was survived by her husband, Rex Masingill, sons, B.J. and John Masingill, brothers, Tony and Marlon Ward, mother, Alberta Ward and many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and extended family.
