Freddie Ortiz

January 13, 1949 — September 20, 2018

Freddie Ortiz, of Shawnee, left this world on Thursday, September 20 at the young age of 69. Each and every person that met Freddie took a piece of him with them. We all, figuratively and sometimes literally, wore a shirt that was once his as he took it off his back to give it to you without question. This unconditional love and giving is what set him apart. With a Christ like love, he is proof that second chances when given with love will allow anyone to pay that forward with love.Freddie, the son of Fred B. and Henryetta (Mercado) Ortiz was born in Lawton, OK on January 13, 1949. Freddie proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Rhonda Watson in Shawnee, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1994. Freddie was of the Catholic faith and worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for over 20 years.Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Ortiz, his father, Fernando Ortiz, his brother Danny Ortiz, two sisters, Stella Talarico and Kathy Stamper, and a grandson Xavier Ortiz. He is survived by his mother, Henryetta Ortiz; brothers: Richard Ortiz and Ray Ortiz; sisters: Carmen Rivenburg and Laura Jung; sons and daughters-in-law: Robbie & Christina Ortiz, Jeremy & Mary Ortiz, Brandy & Alan Reynolds, Crystal Ortiz, Kristian & Kiara Ortiz, Alexis Ortiz, Jasen & Crystal Heatley, Charity Lavy, Michael & Christina Heatley; grandchildren: Fernando Ortiz, Gavin Ortiz, Allie Reynolds, Bishop Reynolds, Melissa Martinez, Cordell Ortiz, Ruben Ortiz, Matthew Hughes, Stormie Ortiz, Ezera Ortiz, Autumn Ortiz, Chloe Ortiz, Joey Heatley, Garrett Heatley, Morgan West, Justice Heatley, Courtney Heatley, Sophia Eberwein, Micah Heatley and Jacob Heatley; great grandchildren: Marlee Ortiz, Andrienna Ortiz, Blayke Ortiz, Harmony Heatley, August Ortiz, and many other family and friends.A memorial service was held Wednesday, September 26 at Walker Funeral Service.
