Esther Faye Taber

Esther Faye Taber, 86, of Tishomingo, died Saturday, November 14 at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Dale with Doug Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Esther was born in Prague, OK on September 17, 1934 to Norby and Cora (VanHorn) Hall. She spent most of her childhood around Prague, until she married Charles A. Taber, Sr. in 1951. They made their home in different places until they settled in the Dale and Shawnee area in 1971. She lived in that area until six years ago when she moved to Tishomingo, OK. That is where she spent her final days until the Lord called her home. Esther was primarily a homemaker. She often worked alongside her husband on the dairy and the farm. She took great joy and pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and then later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although Esther wasn’t a member of any church, she was a devout Christian. She professed to be of the Baptist denomination. She often read her bible to her children and raised them with strong Christian values. She had a kind heart for all children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Taber, Sr.; one son, Jerry Dean Taber; one daughter, Shelia Irene Wise; both her parents; her sister, Opal Lynch; 2 brothers, which included her twin brother Lester Ray Hall, and Lawerance Hall; and several other family members that meant a lot to her.

She is survived by: brother & sister-in-law: James & Pauline Hall of Kingfisher, OK, 3 sons: Delbert Taber and spouse Sky of Tishomingo, OK, Charles A. Taber, Jr. and spouse Pam of Moore, OK and Robert Taber of Hennessey, OK, daughter: Shirley Elaine Pope and spouse John of Tishomingo, OK, as well as 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
