Emma Jane McAdams, age 98, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, in McLoud, Oklahoma.
Emma was born July 23, 1927, in McLoud, Oklahoma, a daughter of William and Viola (Knabe) Mankin. Emma was raised in the Shawnee and McLoud area. After high school, she married the father of her children Wesley N. Little. After his passing in 1954, Emma married Mac McAdams, remaining married until his passing. Through the years, she worked at Wilson's Greenhouse and later as a layout operator for Western Electric/AT&T. Emma was the "Commander in Chief" of her family and would demand adherence to "the plan." Her family is still not sure what that plan may be. Additionally, she loved to ballroom dance and play any game anyone else wanted to play. But her favorite times were the times she spent with her family at the lake. She is remembered for her generosity, even at times when she had little to give. Lastly, Emma was a woman of strong faith and was a longtime member of Northridge Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Larry Little and wife Kathy of Shawnee, Delores Little-Peltier of Shawnee, and Wesley Little and wife Barbara of Dale; grandchildren: Billy Little of Florida, Lisa Pecore and husband Chad of Tecumseh, Larry Wayne Little and wife Mitzi of Shawnee, Vicki Keener and husband Michael of Eufaula, Nicki Peltier, II and wife Dianna of Bethel Acres, Tina Flatt and husband Kyle of Dale, John Little and wife Dawn Dawn of Dale, and Dawn Marie Little, of Dale; 21 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren as well as many dear friends.
Emma is preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley Little and Mac McAdams, brothers: Bob Mankin, Chick Mankin, and Alva Mankin, as well as her sisters, "Pete" Vanoy and Lorene Blaylock.
