Edwin Russel Reese

Reese, Edwin Russel, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 30, 2026 in Oklahoma City after a courageous three and a half year battle with cancer. Edwin was born April 19, 1947 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Luthera Reese.

He was raised in the Rochester area, graduating from high school in Manaca, PA, in 1965. Ed served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He also served in the Army National Guard, and Air National Guard in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He was employed by St. Joe Minerals in Pennsylvania and Catawba Nuclear Station in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed participating in many leagues, cherishing the many friendships and memories made at the Shawnee Bowling Lanes.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Gloria Jean Reese of the home, daughter Amanda Colvin and husband Dean of Choctaw, OK, son: Ryan J. Reese and wife Brittnay of Mt. Holly, SC, grandchildren: Emma and Parker, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great nephew and 1 great niece, as well as his beloved pup Sosee Ann. Edwin was preceded in death by his daughter Alexsis A. Reese, sister Nancy Carter, brother-in-law Bill Carter, brother Charles Reese and nephew Bruce Carter.

No services are planned for Edwin and he will be laid to rest privately at a family cemetery in South Carolina at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
