Dinah Jan Holbrook, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the age of 81 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Dinah was born on August 19, 1941 in Ada, Oklahoma to Tommie Maines and LaFern (Donaghey) Maines.  Dinah was raised in Ada and graduated from high school there in 1959.  Later that year, Floyd Holbrook became her husband on October 17, 1959 in Ada. After they were married, she studied business at East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma.  She worked as an executive assistant for many years before retiring from Edward Jones.
 
Dinah shared her many gifts in volunteer services she provided for years to her friends and family and to organizations such as her church, Salvation Army, PEO, and garden club.  Dinah loved playing bridge with her bridge club and shopping at antique stores and malls. Faith played a big role in Dinah's life as she exemplified strong Christian values throughout the community. Dinah always looked for the best in people.  Dinah's sweet personality shone when she spent time with her family. She absolutely adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dinah cared about others very deeply and had an unshakable faith that was an unwavering source of comfort during difficult times; it inspired everyone around her to always look on the bright side of life.  She will forever be missed but her loved ones are grateful for the beautiful memories she left behind.
 
Dinah's legacy lives on through her surviving family including sons: Tommy Holbrook and wife Barbara of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jay Holbrook of Yukon, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Heather Young and husband Morgan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Kelli Holbrook of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Kevin Holbrook of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jayme Sharp and husband Matt of Morris, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Chepkwony and husband Benson of Harrah, Oklahoma, Jessica Sanchez and wife Lillian of Norman, Oklahoma, Jerrod Danner and wife Chelsea of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Lucas Holbrook of Del City, Oklahoma as well as 15 great-grandchildren.  Dinah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd.
 
Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 7th  2023 and from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 8th ,2023 with the family present to greet friends on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A funeral ceremony to celebrate Dinah's life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Heritage Church, 227 N. Union Ave., Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Dinah will be laid to rest next to her husband privately at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma.
