Deloris Jean Johnson, age 81 of Shawnee, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in a local nursing home. A memorial ceremony will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Larry Sparks and her son, David Johnson officiating. Deloris will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Deloris was born on October 8, 1940, to William "Bill" and Imogene Brown Merrick in Oklahoma City. She married Charles Don Johnson, Sr. on March 9, 1957. She loved to crochet anything from full bedspreads to headbands. She was an avid cook (best Beirocks ever made). She loved gardening and picking blackberries. She loved canning her own jellies, jams, fruits and vegetables. She loved to read, especially Daniel Steele novels, and watch Star Trek, Spartacus and old classic movies. Deloris is survived by her husband, Charles Don Johnson, Sr., three sons and their wives, David and Mary Johnson, Jeff and Julie Johnson, Mike and Deeann Johnson, three grandsons, Christopher, Mark and Eric Johnson, five granddaughters, Kayla Johnson, Cissili Sample, Tara Lewandowski, Madyson McCune and Gracie McCune, sister, Pearl LeBlanc and two brothers, Larry Merrick and William Merrick, four great grandsons, Matthew, Jett, Eli Sample, and Mason Howard, and three great granddaughters, Ruby, Eva Sample, and Emilyn Howard. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Don Johnson, Jr. and Steven Ray Johnson, her parents, brother, Ronny Merrick and sister, Terri Lynn Becerra.
