Dan graduated in 1962, from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma with a B.A. in Ag Econ, and, thereafter, achieved further specialized education in accounting. Most importantly, in 1959, Dan met the love of his life and his sweetheart for eternity, Pat, at the “Howdy Dance” while attending OSU. Pat and Dan were married on June 4, 1960, sharing over 59 amazing years of their life together. After graduating from college, Dan worked in the accounting and management fields until he retired. Dan enjoyed traveling with his wife Pat and experiencing the adventures of the outdoors. Fishing was his favorite hobby, spending countless hours of serenity waiting patiently for the “big one” to hop onto his fishing hook! Dan was also an avid artist, frequently capturing his interpretation of nature’s scenic beauty in paintings, which are proudly displayed wall art by the family. He was an intense history buff, often losing time in a book or researching on the internet, focusing efforts in his later years on genealogy. Most of all Dan cherished his reputation as a good man, and the value he added in his most heartfelt and important roles in life as son, husband, father and grandfather. He is quoted as saying “The road wasn’t always easy but by sticking together through ‘Thick n’ Thin’ we managed to make a life for ourselves, raise 2 beautiful girls and be rewarded with 4 wonderful grandchildren.”Dan is survived by his wife of over 59 years Patricia Louise (Howard) Pertile, his two children Laurie Wrenee Pertile of Dallas, Texas and Cynthia Louise Pertile Tarle, son-n-law Thomas Mathew Tarle, and their children Dillon Mathew, Candace Patricia, Camille Payten, and Courtney Wren of San Diego, California, as well as his nephew Terrance Adrian Droppleman, wife Wendy, and their children Matthew and Susie of Crozet, Virginia.
