Claude L. Jordan

November 16, 1944 — January 21, 2024

Claude L. Jordan

Lifelong Shawnee resident, Claude L. Jordan, passed from this life into the presence of his Lord on January 21st, 2024. He was born on November 16th, 1944 to Elza L. Jordan and Willeta Jordan (Harp) in Shawnee.

He was united in marriage to Susan Streetman on December 27th, 1969, having been married 54 years.

Claude grew up attending Shawnee Public Schools and attending Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1962. While attending Oklahoma Baptist University he enlisted in United States Army Reserves in 1964, where he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant, being both a Drill Sergeant and Recruiter in the latter years of his career. He separated from the Army in 1980.

Claude then spent nearly 30 years working as car salesmen for Brackeen Motors in Shawnee. There he found a true calling of connecting with potential customers on a personal level, then selling them a car or truck if necessary. His love for people ensured that he would deal fairly and honestly in hopes that they would not only be lifelong customers, but dear friends as well.

Claude loved his wife dearly and her care for him after several health issues in his last few years demonstrated her deep and abiding love as well.

Claude and Susan raised two boys, John and David. He was always involved and present for their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Among his favorite things to do with his boys were hunting and fishing. Claude always loved spending time outdoors on a local farm pond or some flooded timber for duck hunting.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice Cooper, and brother Earl Jordan. He is survived by his wife Susan of Shawnee, John and Elizabeth Jordan of Mustang, OK, David and Dacia Jordan of Shawnee, OK. His is also survived by his grandchildren, William (Will) Jordan of Norman, OK, Anna Jordan of Shawnee, OK, and Mason Jordan of Mustang, OK. He leaves behind many beloved nephews and nieces, cousins, and numerous dear friends.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of Shawnee for the care they provided Claude these last several months. Another special thanks to Integris Hospice House of OKC for their loving care as well in his final days.

There will be an open viewing from 4-6 pm at New Beginnings Church in Shawnee on Wednesday, January 24th. Funeral services will be the following day at New Beginnings at 2 pm with Pastor and son David Jordan officiating.
