Cindy Drummond

Cynthia Katherine Akerman Drummond, a Federal Aviation Administration Financial Services Manager passed away December 3, 2025 after a valiant fight of metastatic colon cancer. Cindy was born on Sunday September 11, 1966 in Shawnee to James and Judy Akerman. She attended Will Rogers School in Shawnee before the family moved to Prague where she graduated in 1984. She later graduated from St. Gregory's College in 1986 with an Associates degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. While attending college, she also worked part time at the Prague National Bank, now Vision Bank, until 1986. From 1986 to 1988, she worked for Carlson and Cottrell, CPAs as an auditor and staff accountant. Her background in accounting, tax and audits led her to JDL, Inc. and Floyd A. Anderson, CPA as a contract employee for the Federal Aviation Administration. In June 2000, she became a federal employee for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City. Cindy accepted a manager position in the Financial Services Division of the FAA's Enterprise Services Center in 2014 and served in that position until her death. Cindy loved the challenging work of the ESC as they built their customer base to sustain their distinction as one of only Shared Service Providers of Financial Management to other US federal agencies. She loved leading her team to many great successes and was a role model for all. Other employees often sought reassignment or vacant positions in her area. She treated everyone with respect and dignity and was not afraid to dig in with her staff when issues arose. Her patience and subtle sense of humor were classic trademarks.

Cindy married Scott Drummond in June of 2000 in Harrison AR, and they divorced in December 2011.

It provides baby necessities to young mother who need a helping hand. She also had a soft spot for teacher DonorsChoose projects in Shawnee and the surrounding communities. She often fully funded a project anonymously so the teacher could set up their classroom without delay.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either Project Gabriel or a charity of your choice to honor Cindy.

Per Cindy's wishes, there will be no service. A private burial will occur at a later date.
