Charles Allen Johnson-Ponkilla

Charles Allen Johnson Ponkilla passed away on June 21, 2026, at the age of 28. He was born on March 2, 1998, to Brenda Gail Ponkilla and Stanley Johnson in Ada, Oklahoma.

Charles was a lifelong family-centered person whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He attended high school and worked as a cook. He was known for his loving nature, happy spirit, and ability to make those around him laugh. Family and friends will remember him for always joking, sharing his sense of humor, and bringing light into everyday moments.

Charles especially enjoyed being with family and friends. He loved music, video games and valued the relationships he built throughout his life. He took pride in being a brother, uncle, and someone people could depend on.

He is survived by his siblings, Crystal Ponkilla, Bobby Billey, Alisha Ponkilla, Maria Davis, James Ponkilla, and Stanley Asa Johnson; his uncles and extended family including Jeffery Ponkilla, Marshall Ponkilla, Jeffery Ponkilla Jr., Brian Ponkilla, Dylan Ponkilla, and Loretta Ponkilla; his nieces and nephews; his girlfriend, Madison Bell; stepson, Maverick Bell; and cousins including Stephanie Tofoi and Dion Draper, along with many additional relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorena Ponkilla, James Ponkilla, Charlie Johnson, and Christin Johnson; his parents, Brenda Ponkilla and Stanley Johnson; his brother, Anthony Ponkilla; his sister, Summer Dawn Johnson; and his uncles, Jimmy Ponkilla and Gordon Ponkilla.

Charles will be remembered for his laughter, his love for family, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

A wake service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Horseshoe Bend Community Building. A graveside service will follow on June 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Wakolee Cemetery.
