Shawnee resident Catherine Walker, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017.Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 2, 2017 at Galilee Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Rhone officiating. Catherine was born October 3, 1930 in Robeline, Louisiana to Mr. Chester and Mrs. Pallie Hamilton. Catherine attended Mallard Hill Elementary school in Robeline, LA. She also attended Dunbar High School in Shawnee, OK Catherine held various occupations. She possessed a cosmetology license. She supervised at Richmond Brothers Clothier and later obtained her CNA license to become a home health care provider. Catherine was married to Hersey Walker. Catherine spent much of her adult life in Cleveland, OH. She moved back to Shawnee, OK in 1986. Catherine loved to talk and was a great communicator. She knew no stranger. She had a strange and humorous sense of humor. Catherine loved to travel and garden. She was known for her mustard and collard greens. Catherine was a member of Mallard Hill Church COGIC, in Robeline, LA & Galilee Baptist Church of Shawnee, OK. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Hersey Walker, father, Chester Hamilton, mother, Pallie Mathis, step-father, John Henry Mathis, sisters Bertha Hamilton Lester and Osena Hamilton and brother Clarence Hamilton. She is survived by Sisters, Gladys Hamilton Edwards, Betty Hamilton Young and a host of nieces and nephews.
