Catherine Ann Adams, 91, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, was born on March 1, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to John and Irene Dunn. She was the third of four girls.
Catherine grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Marquette High School. After high school she attended Oklahoma University for one year, then transferred to Oklahoma A&M, now known as Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. While attending A&M, she met the love of her life, Lawrence Pete Adams. They married on May 28, 1955. Together, they raised four children.
After a short battle with AML, leukemia, Catherine passed on October 19, 2025 in Guthrie with her family by her side.
Her unwavering faith in God and positive outlook on life were amazing. Family was everything for her, she always put family first. Catherine was a stay-at-home mom and was very understanding and supportive of her children. She attended every sporting event her children were involved with, baseball, basketball or showing calves and pigs in FFA, she was there. Catherine was the glue that held us together.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents, John & Irene Dunn; and her sisters, Chris Darnaby Murphy and Mary Barrick.
Catherine is survived by her children, Larry & Teresa Adams of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Andy & Sandra Adams of Edmond, Oklahoma; John & Staci Adams of Harrah, Oklahoma; and Cathy & Bill Brassard of Guthrie, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her sister, Carol Stockwell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be October 22, 2025 from 12-5 PM at Walker Funeral Service, 201 East 45th Street, Shawnee, OK.
Rosary service will be Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah, 1576 Tim Holt Dr, Harrah, OK 73045; interment will be at St. Teresa cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction Walker Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawnee.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Catholic Church, her nurse Amy and Companion Home Health Hospice of Guthrie for their support and care.
