Calvin Wayne Rowe, Jr. entered this worldly stage on December 7, 1991, born to Minnie Rochelle Masquas and Calvin Wayne Rowe, Sr. His final denouement occurred on August 6, 2025. Calvin was raised with traditional Sac and Fox beliefs and customs although he was enrolled with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. His beloved grandma called him Kisko as did many relatives. Others knew him as "Junebug," the nickname given jokingly by his dad when he was less than a week old.
His education began at CTSA Headstart followed by attendance at North Rock Creek School through the 7th grade. He transferred to Shawnee Middle School for his 8th grade year. Calvin graduated from Shawnee High School in 2010. While at SHS, he participated in cross country track, was a member of the swim team, took drama classes and was the Shawnee Wolves mascot. Calvin was the first cast member to perform live on the stage of the new SHS auditorium as Joe Crowell in "Our Town."
After high school, he traveled to New York City. While there, he attended several Broadway performances. He then attended OCCC in Oklahoma City. He was cast in productions while there. Calvin was also cast in productions at the Shawnee Little Theatre.
He was "theatrical" from an early age, acting out movie scenes for anyone who was near. Calvin loved movies and music of all genres, studied voice, piano, jazz, and tap dance.
He was employed at age 16, holding various customer service positions. He worked briefly as a security guard at The Black Hawk Casino.
Calvin was an "old soul" with a heart larger than his physical being. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He always had kind words for all and had a smile that would brighten the day.
He leaves behind his mother; sister Amber Dawn High-Bass; "sister" Amy Lynn Ellis; traditional mother Lina Ortega; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding his passing were his grandparents grace Thompson and Joe N. Masquas, Jr; his father Calvin Wayne Rowe, Sr.; grandmother Eugenia Sue Lee; grandfather Jimmy Wilburn Rowe, Sr.; great-grandmother Iva B. Pratt; and his beloved "sister" Ashley Kay Ellis.
A traditional Sac and Fox funeral ceremony will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Wolf Clan Traditional House in Cushing, Oklahoma. Burial will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 9:00 am at the Hunter Family Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.
